What is your cancellation/reschedule policy?I offer a 3-hour cancellation/reschedule policy for all session types (except marathons), meaning that there will be no fee due with that much notice. With less than 3 hours notice, the full cost of the session is due. Industry standard is 24-48 hours, but I don’t want therapy to ever feel like a “have to” if something else comes up.
*Please note that 3 instances of late-cancel/reschedule (less than 3 hours notice) within a 6-month rolling period means I may terminate services. Also, if you frequently reschedule/cancel, I may terminate services. (I try to discuss solutions with you first, if possible!)What happens if I no-show to a scheduled session?The full cost of the scheduled session would still be due. But since I don’t love charging for sessions that don’t happen, I offer a courtesy Make-up Session that the fee can be applied to. After the missed session, I offer a limited number of times convenient to me over the next two weeks. If a time aligns, we schedule it and there is no fee for that session.
*Please note that 3 no-shows in a rolling 6-month period means I may terminate services. **Please also note that a make-up session cannot be rescheduled, and this courtesy may not always be extended. ***Marathon sessions cannot be made up, due to the significant time and financial loss. Can I be driving during a session, or out of the state?No! Safety and laws first.
If you’re parked, there’s no problem. Otherwise, therapy is way too engaging when done properly and can be emotional, so it’s either too risky or ineffective.
If you’re out of state, my license does not allow me to see you, as laws are different in every state, and I also need to know your location for safety, in case of an emergency.
In either case, I would need to end the session and you would still be responsible for the full fee. (I would offer a Make-up Session in this case.)
